Gambling in DQ 3 NES version

A curious situation arose while I was gambling to get more gold for upgrades. The Babble has more health obviously, but spells won’t work on either metal. Both Metals will probably only take 1 damage unless there’s a crit. Who would win, or would it be declared a draw?
