Personally, I would love to play like one! We got Arcane warrior in DAO and Knight Enchanter in DAI. We got teased by a concept art earlier of an Arcane Archer from Christian Dailey and I love it.
Considering the setting of DA4 is mostly(I'm assuming) in Tevinter Imperium, I hope we get a mage-rogue hybrid too. Something like this(D'Artagnan Evolved by Wesley Burt). (An example) Originally practiced in Antiva, the apostate mages from Mages Collective pose as duelists and assassins in order to not get noticed by the chantry. Eventually the chantry discovered that the collective is in league with various Antivan guilds then got outlawed. Some apostates fled to Tevinter where they were welcomed and incorporated into the legion, specifically as part of Scout regiment. The way they work is that they wield a rapier on their dominant hand and a focus orb/scepter/rod on the other to help channel magic easier, similar to why mages wield a staff in DA. Or something like that idk, it's up to Bioware.
I also get why would some players disapprove of this as this would take away some experience of non-mage classes. Feels too mage-y some might think and it's a valid concern. What about dwarves, they can't do it, right? What do you think?
