What is the precise relationship of the darkspawn to the fade at present? Do they dream?
There's often implications but rarely hard facts, particularly since wardens often keep information on the down-low. For example since Wardens often dream of Darkspawn/Archdemons, one would expect darkspawn do too, if they ever have cause to dream at all.
However... darkspawn can be induced to dream, as per The First in the Black Marsh in Awakening. Maybe they dream more often than we think?
Do they manipulate its magics? I've heard that darkspawn emissaries have their magic powered by the taint - is this confirmed or merely conjecture? Could they not theoretically manipulate taint, blood and lyrium magic?
What do demons think of them? Darkspawn are not ideal hosts, but what about Awakened darkspawn?
I'm running a pen-and-paper campaign for some Untainted folk that's set near the end of the First Blight - I plan to start the first session defending an alley in defense of Denerim, in fact, to immediately sell to them the threat of darkspawn.
These questions are merely a probe for canon-viability. I'm going to go by DM-fiat on a number of them if I have to, since one way or another I'm having an Awakened-Darkspawn-Discipline-Spirit-Abomination, like Anders but... not like Anders.
Also, the Hero of Ferelden died fighting the High Dragon at the Temple of Sacred Ashes, Loghain is disgraced and Alistair dies killing the Archdemon, since my players requested a sandbox and I'm an asshole.
Also happy to discuss campaign direction suggestions. Only real stuff I've got nailed down is that Awakened darkspawn/The Architect and the Legion of the Dead are important pieces, simply because I love their concepts.
