Hey there, been recently thinking about Loghain since I replayed the game not long ago. I was thinking about why I almost always spare him (as in, I generally think that queen Anora and king Alistar, with Loghain surviving to DA:I is the best overall outcome) and that is kinda when it hit me - is it easier to not hate Loghain as a dwarven character?
That was kinda the thing with me: I never really hated him, right, and always thought, "Grey Wardens are not about heroism, it is about getting job done, so come on, let's get going Loghain", and I tried to understand why. If you think about it, elven characters have A LOT of reason to hate him, and so do both human noble and human mage. Dwarves? Not really? Not only does my character come from a society that has steep caste system (so, to them, slavery might be less appalling) but my character, at this point, already spared her brother because that is what was better for Orzammar. Long story short, I kinda realized that the reason why I might dislike Loghain less than others is because I mained dwarven noble, who, truth be told, has no personal beef with Loghain. Just a funny thought I had, I guess.
