I'm looking to move and I know Wyandotte has a lot of private rental properties like flats and such. Any tips on how to find one/what to avoid?
What is your budget? Also, assuming you have good credit?
The main property management company is Epic Property management and I have good things to say about it as a landlord and I have never heard a complaint about them from any tenants.
I do have a friend who does rentals in AP and Wyandotte and he manages them himself. I know he just got a nice brick ranch that he plans to market in the next month.
Wyandotte also has great response to utility issues. You might end up paying a little bit more, but it could be worth it. Downtown Wyandotte is a nice area too.

In that case reach out to Epic Property Management (on FB), they will be able to help you. Unlikely to get a house for that price and that is what I do/my friends do. Epic has apartments, that might cover an apartment.
That amount is manageable in an area like Taylor, but you might be pushing your luck in Wyandotte, Epic will be able to hook you up though.
