Fake email/Scammer/ Bots? Oh my

Responded to an ad and the email disappeared after a few exchanges. Glad I didn’t send a face pic, but cautious now and likely creating a whole other email for these types of surest. Anyone else experience this… last thing I need is my pics all over the place!!
Tell me your experience, please.
The Gay for Straight area seems popping, but lesson learned, if the image looks too good to be true, likely a fake
