Post Body

Everyone I know it's disappointing but it's over. I'm a good looking and in shape guy near a major metropolitan area and have been on DL since lobbyists from companies like Match Group succeeded in destroying the Craigslist personals section under the guise of protecting children (Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act). As if such heinous acts don't continue on in earnest through any number of other social media sites including Craigslist probably -_-

Anyway, I liked to use Craigslist and eventually Doublelist to explore kinks I don't feel like putting into a Tinder or Bumble profile. Well, Craigslist was great for years had a lot of fun. Doublelist was just okay, definitely a shadow of Craigslist's ease of access/pool of people. But it was fine that is up until maybe a year ago when they started pushing the laughable premium service but who knows maybe it's been bad longer. Here are my observations from recent experiences before I bounced:

  1. Serial posters...all day. And I'm not just talking about the daily single posts or those fellas who think the "create a post" icon is an M-16 set to three round burst with repeat ads all saying the same thing. The worst of these are the guys who have used multiple phone numbers to create alts, which in turn they use to post a 6-15 ads at a time...it's trifling
  2. Very very very few women and even then they're mostly in the confines of MW4W. Their numbers have dwindled down because why the hell would any woman use her email/number for Doublelist when she can just use it for Tinder, Bumble, PoF, etc? Ladies can literally create tinder profiles without face pics and still get plenty of likes/matches.
  3. W4M and T4M ads are pretty much all prostitues posting without mention of their ulterior motive because they don't want to get flagged/banned. They've always been around but it feels like that's all there is anymore. Used to hook up every couple of weeks, then it became once a month, now I'm lucky if it's once every few months.
  4. Bots...bots everywhere. These days they've started posting in M4M with a title and body of text saying they are actually a woman looking for a guy I'm guessing because their W4M were getting flagged. At first I thought it might be women just trying to be discreet or not get flagged. Boy was I wrong.
  5. Saved the worst for last. Catfishers. These people are cancer. They've got their whole system down. Fake email with girls name, bogus number/kik for texting, plenty of lifted pics for trade. Granted, sniffing them out doesn't take very long once you've established contact. But they are so annoying and some of them are really good at wasting your time. Whether they're collecting pics, manipulating men for attention, or just plain getting off on the sense of power it gives them these people

Conclusion: If you're a guy you're better off using Tinder or Bumble or anything but Doublelist so long as you're in good shape and have good pictures/can hold a conversation. If you're a woman why on earth would you wander around a cesspool like Doublelist when virtually all the swipe apps will present you with unlimited (better) options for just about anything you seek? Gay guys I have no idea but I'm guessing you got plenty of problems to go around with this site as well.
