Upton bass sells the adjusters solo, and claims a lot of customers do the conversion themselves.
I'm an experienced machinist so I know how to use saws and a drill press, and a competent luthier is at least 2 hours away. I'm also a struggling musician with very little extra money.
I would like to hear from anyone who has done this, or from luthiers who do this and find out what the pitfalls can be and what kind of saw/setup is recommended.
The drill press part I'm very confident on but I have not worked much with wood saws, just steel.and aluminum chop and band saws.
