my first couple days. help?

I'm sorry if this is obvious but I've watched videos and tips and everything but what I need help is more with how the app works! I'm not all that techy. Do you have to always schedule a dash, you can't just have time and dash and is it you can only dash in red zones? So if it's not red you have to drive to a red area? Also when you deliver it of a red area how do you get back? Just use the suggested hotspot? Because that takes me out of the app to Google maps and if I get a delivery it still shows up in the app so it's really difficult! I guess just help lol sorry
