One of the real issues with Doordash in smaller communities is that they bundle their Walmart orders and schedule their deliveries in such a manner that the driver only gets paid for half the mileage the return trip from the last delivery is always unpaid and usually the farthest away from the pickup zone. I've picked up and delivered many orders like that where the first two or three deliveries are in town and the last delivery is eight or nine miles away and then you're stuck driving all that mileage back un-paid to get into an area where you can get your next order. As an aside if you want to tip your driver most of us use cash app or venmo , when you see we're bringing your delivery or we message you for a location ask us for it if you want to give us a tip. I personally only accept orders that pay more than a dollar a mile including the tip, mainly because of the price of gas right now. Another trick I use is to deliver the last item first and drive my way back toward Town delivering them in reverse order. It's about the only way we can be where we can pick up the next order at a reasonable time you're still unpaid for half the mileage but you're in a good area when you're finished.
