I wanted to outline my dasher strategy and see what everyone thinks.
I dash in Texas and average a gross revenue of about $100 over 6 hours. I dash as a side gig in the evenings, and strictly dash for 6 hours(starting at 5pm for 3 hours, then a break for a hour, then another 3 hours) my budgeted expenses per 6 hours is $20($15 for fuel, and $5 for a fountain drink, or dinner at Sam's Club if I am near one), and use a 2006 Honda Element. So my nightly net is consistently $80 /-(approximately $13/hr)
I have been dashing since October, and have consistently met those numbers since day one. It is a ok side gig, to supplement a existing business that I own. I started dashing because of family health issues took me away from the main business and caused strain on it. Once I get to a point where the main business shows signs of recovering, I will probably reduce my dash time, or stop dashing all together.
