I’m very curious as to how Door Dashers and Uber Eat folk get paid. Do you get a percentage of the order the tip or is the only the tip. I’m going through this subreddit and I’m so surprised these orders only give $2-8. I know it’s good extra cash but is it really worth it in the end?

Sometimes I can only tip $3-5 because the fees are ridiculously high, but I assumed part of those prices went to the dasher/delivery person. Plus all the food is up charged like crazy in app. I’m currently nearly bedridden so I live off of Uber/DoorDash and Instacart because I can’t go out, but it’s so expensive. Do you guys at least keep some of it?
