I got a noticed of insufficient funds on Sunday morning when I was still in bed. My card had been used at a Target in Brooklyn and I live in PA!
The transaction went through somehow for the exact amount I had in my account!?!
I called Target and spent two hours on the phone. Eventually, they gave me a reference number and told me my card issuer would have to contact them.
I called DasherDirect which just put you into general DoorDash support. Spent another hour and a half trying to get someone to understand the situation and help me.
Eventually, I was told that someone from their escalations team would contact me.
I waited a week and received absolutely no communications from DoorDash or Target.
Called back almost 9 days later and got someone on the phone who was at least attempting to be helpful. I was told that the person at the target store used Google pay and their policy was not to refund money that was purchased using Google pay. She basically told me I was shit out of luck.
I am beyond fuming! I’m not the one who used Google pay. I don’t have it set up on my card or my phone.
I’ve had similar situations with my normal bank, and it took less than two minutes on the phone to dispute a charge and have it refunded to me.
I cannot fathom that this is the typical policy for DasherDirect cards !?!?
