Getting a merchant deactivated for bad behavior?

Post Body

I had the Worst experience at a merchant that I shouldn’t have accepted an order from in the first place because there hasn’t been a single experience there in the past month that has been pleasant, but tonight takes the cake.

The merchant is KFC. They have in big, bold letters on the door “Doors open for mobile orders and delivery” Doors have been locked to everyone for the past week. You have to go through the drive through, and the architecture of the parking lot makes you unable to pull out of the queue once you have entered. I decide to pull in, hoping it will be a seamless process. Nope. 15 minutes before I got to the speaker. No less than 6 dashers/mobile orders came to the door, I let them know what was going on as long as I could see that side of the building so they could make their own decision to continue or not. Then I let them know my customer’s name at the drive through and that it was DoorDash, they told me to pull around. Another 15 minutes behind cars, that I could not pull out of. I’m already in contract violation territory and PISSED. I get to the window. “Did you have an order?” “Yeah, it’s DoorDash John Doe as I said at the speaker” “Okay it’s going to be 15 minutes pull forward”

“… no. Turn off your dasher app, your store is too busy to accept orders.” “No. We’re short staffed but we’ll lose out on money if we don’t do deliveries.” “Every person doing DoorDash from this store is going to get a contract violation and potentially be fired. DoorDash support has already tried to call the store and no one answered. You are too busy to take Doordash deliveries, turn off your app or give me my order that notified me it was ready 15 minutes ago” “You’re not gonna get fired from DoorDash, If you’re not going to pull forward, I will simply refuse your order” “Then you won’t mind me calling the store through the Dasher app and having no one answer so I can confirm it’s closed, right?” I pulled around as I was on the phone with DoorDash support and and after being able to speak to someone else in the store, I assume another employee, someone else brought my order out. When reaching out to DoorDash support they said they’d “escalate” the issue but I’m not hopeful. What do you think the odds are of that location actually getting deactivated? I am never accepting another order from them, but I really don’t want it to be a sinkhole for other unsuspecting delivery workers either.
