So, tonight in little old Medford OR at around 12:20am a very interesting thing happened... doordash said we were very busy and gave us the three bars. Where I live, this dosen't even happen during the daytime so despite the time I decided it would be a great idea to give it a shot. boy was I wrong
When I walked in to the only place that was open at this hour, I had initially received a guarantee of $9.25. My pickup time was 1:04am. I waited. and waited. and waited. 30 minutes go by. Still waiting.
Finally, about 45 minutes in, the only waitress at the establishment comes to tell me that they had received a cancellation for that order.
I call doordash customer support, clearly upset and they offer me a measly $4.62. At this point the waitress had asked if maybe I could take the other two orders that had been waiting for 25 minutes to be delivered. I tested her hypothesis and ended up with two orders... for seperate people.
Once again, I called doordash to try and be switched over. After talking on the phone for 15 minutes, I come to find out that not only can I not be switched over to these customers who have been waiting, but also that if I cancel the orders I have going now... that are at the very bottom of the list... it will count towards my completion rate.
Ended the night at 2:30am, with $4.62 and a lower completion rate then when I started.
Thanks doordash.
