Seattle Dasher with a surprising change of attitude
Post Body

Hello, as a on and off gig worker, previously doordash was my second worst enemy, behind Instacart. Previously in Seattle the pay was crap, the orders were everywhere, but for 2-3 dollars, so I said Fu#K door dash. Now please nobody come to Seattle to dash, you can only magnify the problem of zero orders regularly, so stay home. Although DD is still blaming everything on everyone they can, except the DD company for screwing us out of dollars for years, my attitude on deliveries has become very positive, I am excited for my 2-3 daily block of time, and the pay now is where it should be for the service we provide, especially in cities like Seattle, navigating the roads, parking, getting in and out of buildings. Now though since I feel the pay matches the job we do, I have my self respect back when I DD, and it shows when I pick up at restaurants, drop off to customers, etc. DD uses a very complicated algorthym here in Seattle, I have read about it on some blogs like Medium etc.,If you havent dashed in Seattle for a while, dont expect to come here and get order after order it never happens unless you have some history here in Seattle. I pride myself on providing customers and restaurants what many people forget about, which is friendly, professional attitude, do you really think a restaurant gives a damn if you pout because the orders not ready when you get there? I also highly recommend to the Dashers without command of english yet, you will do yourself well to learn it quickly, when you miss instructions or messages due to the tough english language you are costing yourself a lot of money!

I have been in the workforce for a long time, as a Paramedic in the military and civilian life, now retired but I understand how businesses and bosses think, we will need to fight everyone to be able to keep our fair pay here in Seattle and that takes all of us together, or you can go back to $2 Mcdonalds orders at 3am

always having the option to Dash Now is very comforting
