I find myself having two major modes: modern rock offshoots (stoner rock, doom metal, space rock like Sleep, Asteroid, Acid King, Mastodon) and traditional music (traditional/classical and folk-type music from different places like India, Australian, Mongolia, Japan, Palestine, North America etc.). Most recently, I've also been listening to alot of religious Byzantine-style chanting. OM seems to connect all three themes with their aesthetics and tone—the droning being a primary component. They are also the band I listen to far beyond any other, which I find interesting but understandable given my other tastes. I was just curious if anyone else had a similar relation with this example, or a similar relation between disparate personal musical tastes with a common element.
