Stupid Woodie Question

I started a SP RoG world with Woodie, since he is one of the few characters I've never played. I was expecting a log meter, however, I only have health/hunger/sanity. Am I missing something obvious or is my Woodie run bugged? I can cut as many trees with Lucy as I want with no issue. I'm only day 6 or 7, so no full moon yet.
