This has been on my mind a lot, before and after starting to main Maxwell in DST. What do more experienced players think of the changes they made to Maxwell in DST? Is he more viable for team comps, or is he worse because of his sanity nerf and lack of most of his starting items?
Personally, I think he's better in DST. Being able to make specific puppets makes his resource collecting niche be extremely helpful for any team, considering he can get a chest full of logs in a day with a logger or two and a digger. Also, considering Dark Swords and Armor are so much easier to make with deforestation and easy nightmare fuel grinding, the lack of starting items is hardly noticable IMO, although some might like the luxury of having that stuff right away. Even though, canonically, Maxwell never shouldve been playable in singleplayer, since he was sent into the same world Wilson was in in the Cyclum comics, and he only had the Codex Umbra, no Sword or Armor or anything.
TL;DR: Is Maxwell better in singeplayer or DST? Asking experienced players.
