Hi, I really need some assistance. There’s a lot going on in my life right, with surgery to my lower back/sacrum being postponed because of the COVID-19 virus. I have a huge amount of medical debt, mostly because I cannot work right now. I have multiple chronic illnesses, with several rare diseases. They include Adrenal Insufficiency, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Dysautonomia, degenerative disc disease, tethered cord syndrome, sleep apnea, and once it is safe for me to be tested, I’ll be able to have my sleep study for narcolepsy. My sleep medicine doctor is confident I am narcoleptic. The monthly trip to the pharmacy puts a huge financial strain on us.

For my surgery, I am having a tethered cord release. While we have our flight covered, lodging is not. We have to stay in South Carolina for nine days, in order to reduce the risk of cerebral spinal fluid ( CSF ) leaks and other adverse effects. Our hotel provides breakfast, but lunch and dinner are on us. We explored the possibility on getting an AirB&B, but decided against it due the nature of my surgery and recovery. While we have been to South Carolina four times in the last year, this stay will be our longest. The hospital is estimating the cost will be around $4000 with insurance.
