A Bit Confused as a Dom

Post Body

So I'm sort of new to the whole dom thing as I never really got practice in. I've been interested in it for about 8 or so years now and practiced it a bit about 4 or so years ago. Then I got into a long term relationship that ended just recently and while it started out with the precept of dom/sub, it devolved into a normal relationship due to the stress of both our lives.

So, to the point of the post. I made a personal ad on r/BDSMpersonals and it's obviously gotten no traction. I never expected it to immediately take off or anything, but when I do message a different personal ad, I either get no response or a few before just getting ghosted.

Am I making a mistake by starting off nice and being courteous? Like I guess I'm just confused on how to really dip my foot back into the community.
