My dog has what appears to be masticatory muscle myositis. She was tested for this, but the test came back negative. The test sample guidelines said the sample must arrive within 3 days for accurate results. It took 5 days to get there and be processed the day it arrived so Iām not totally sure it's accurate but my vet recommended a neurologist.
I am now seeing that this could all be a long term, high cost journey so I want to get pet insurance. Will this somehow be considered a pre-existing condition? The symptoms are muscle atrophy in the muscles in her jaw and the top of her head, but nothing extreme.
