My dog Charlie was at our dog-sitter's for the last few days, and she called me on Tuesday to let me know he had scraped his paw on something and was limping. She cleaned it with anti-bacterial solution and kept him off his feet until I could pick him up this morning and get a good look at it myself.
It doesn't appear to be too deep (PHOTO), and he's otherwise his normal chipper self, so outside of the immediate pain of putting pressure on it, it doesn't seem to be hurting him too much. He just got home, had some breakfast and hopped up into my bed for a nap after a long weekend of playing with his friends — all totally normally except for the slight limp.
Is it worth a vet visit? I don't think it's something that requires stitches or anything, would they just tell me to keep it cleaned and covered?
Anyone who's dealt with a similar cut on the paw pad -- any recommendations for what I should be using on it?
