How do I stop my dog from constantly barking and scratching the door.

My dog is kind of a spoiled brat and he constantly barks at 3 am in the morning because 2 weeks before I woke up during that time to prepare for my oral defense. Since then he has been used to barking loudly during that time.

I’m a heavy sleeper so I don’t really hear him but my dad is annoyed because it has been affecting his sleep schedule. He often beats the dog and threatens to kill him if he doesn’t stop.

How do I prevent this and discipline my dog in a humane manner. Please do not tell me to call the cops since the cops here are really corrupt and probably won’t even prioritize death of animals.
