He’s some sort of yellow Labrador mix, a big fella. Him and our other neighbors two dogs (a Pomeranian Chihuahua mix and a Poodle Chihuahua mix; both very small) were all running around the neighborhood and in the road as I was taking my elderly dog (Dachshund Chihuahua mix) out for a little walk and a potty break. All 3 of those dogs are friendly towards people and other dogs.
This guy driving huge truck ran over the Labrador mix and stopped once he noticed what was happening. The Labrador limped out from under the truck and then the neighbor came running. The guy in the truck stopped and tried to help, but I’m not sure what happened from there since I couldn’t hear them. As far as I know the Labrador was taken inside the house and that was it.
My neighbors always give me shit for keeping my dog leashed when he’s outside, but this is exactly why I do. Those 3 dogs are always off leash and unsupervised at any given time and there’s also at least 1 aggressive dog that roams around. It’s so damned dangerous to let your dog run around unsupervised and off leash like this. I don’t even know if that Labrador is gonna be alright at this point.
