I have a year old American Staffy x English staffy, and she keeps getting out and no matter how we fix the fence she keeps getting out. So instead we keep her inside until she needs to go out for a bit in which we watch her, unless we go out then we had a long wire attached to another long wire (like a T) that she could run along, but she snapped the wire. Now my parents want to get a shock collar that shocks her everytime she leaves the border of the yard (we have an acre for her to run around in). I know shock collars are awful and that they cause a lot of physical and psychological damage, but they won’t listen to me. Is there any other way we can train her to stop. We also can’t make the fences higher yet as we’re moving in 18 months. If they start to shock her I might have to take her to the rspca but I don’t want to lose her. Please help
Edit: The reason she gets out is to see our neighbours dog, but she attacked their cat and now our neighbour is calling us negligent and liars about the wire as to how she got out. I just want her to be happy but I also don’t want to lose her
