My friend has a really sweet mutt. One day I was discussing with her if she is going to neuter him, she said no. Fair enough, I guess. But then she told me that she wants him to breed once. Because his behavior will be better after he breeds once. I know nothing about this so I say nothing. But I told her that there are thousands of dogs up for adoption in my state who never get adopted, and then are left on the road to survive as strays. What is funny is that she herself adopted the puppy of a stray dog. She keeps posting #adoptdontshop stories on her instagram. I told her getting puppies adopted is very difficult but she insisted that she will get it done. I told her that #adoptdontshop does not mean anything if you breed your own dog, you are unnecessarily bringing more dogs into this world.
What more can I do to convince her to not go through with this? I have lot of time to convince her, she does not plan to do this for another year or so. She has no experience in breeding and this is her first dog. I don't even know if there are breeding laws in my city/state but I doubt there is anything legally to stop her.
