Post Body

My dog had to have surgery for pyometra. She's fine and nearly fully recovered at this point.

However, just in the last two days, she has become territorial regarding the area where she spends most of her time.

On three seperate occasions now she has, in a way that I have never seen before, hurried to chase and/or get in front of my son while barking defensively as my son approaches her "spot" like he's done so many times before.

My son and my dog, a female I should mention, were born two weeks apart and have literally known each other all their lives.

I know how to resolve the issue and have already taken the necessary steps, but the question I'm left with is Why?

How does all this correlate? She is perfectly normal with me and the SO in all regards. My first thought was that the extra attention she was getting while recovering has led her to believe that she had jumped a peg in the Pecking Order.

I'd welcome any input, thoughts, or opinions.
