Post Body

So in the new year, I am hopefully getting a German shepherd puppy as my next service dog in training.(it depends if there's enough males and if there is one suited for me). The puppies are going to possibly be born two weeks from Sunday so then puppy would come home either in February or April(I may pay the breeder to do some foundation training with my puppy since she is a service dog trainer) Right now I am a full time student at university and I live in off campus student housing. I share an apartment with one roommate. Just so I dont use up more of the common area with a crate, how do I prevent separation anxiety in my puppy when I am home all the time and in the same room as my puppy? Even though my puppy if it managed to become a full train service dog once older and will be will with me pretty much all the time, I want to be still be able to leave it at home sometimes when I have to and it not be anxious that I am gone. I have dealt with separation anxiety before(I had a dog come to me with pretty severe separation anxiety) and it was horrible so I rather not go through it again if I can.
