Hi everyone!
This weekend, my brother was in the process of adopting a dog, things went great until they didn't. He ended up getting attacked when the dog picked up trash during a walk.
Mistakes were made, he should have been muzzled, looking back, we can all see where things could have gone differently.
I keep fixating on it, because if my boyfriend had not chosen to walk with us, my brother could have been killed. It was a bad attack and I would not have known what to do, plus I had my own dog with me for the walk. We were so fortunate he was there and able to get things under control enough so they could tie the dog to a tree and wait for the Foster to come pick the dog back up. They received bites/punctures on their arms and needed some stitches, but overall it could have been way worse.
The question I wanted to talk about is, how to stop a dog attack? What should I do if I am being attacked, or am with someone who is being attacked? This dog is much more powerful than I am. He is a 95lb Malamute, and I would have been useless if I had been alone.
