I donât know if my dog is just weird or what. He is almost 2 years old. Black lab/GSD working line and also a service dog in training. From when I first got him at 4 months to now, he has never been taught that he has to ask permission to jump on the bed for a snuggle (in fact, I would love if he would initiate snuggling more often!!) and for a good portion of the beginning of his life (when he was small enough), he would sleep at the end of my bed just fine. Now, at almost 2 years old, Odin refuses to jump on my bed (or any bed) without permission. The way to give him permission is to pat the bed next to you and say âcome cuddle!â. This doesnât seem like an issue, but when itâs 3 am and youâre woken up by the coldest of nose nudges bc your very polite boy wants to snuggle, itâs a bit annoying admittedly.
I feel like this canât just be unique to him. There must be other very polite dogs out there.
