Post Body

I had to remove Sophie's left eye after she was bitten by another dog. Her vision wasn't exactly the greatest, and she would frequently miss toys in grass from less than 5 feet away.

Its been 3 days since her enucleation and she is doing really well (playing with toys, not being scared, eating, etc). I have noticed that she sometimes doesn't see toys when she is playing with them if they roll onto her left side. She also is a little spooked when she pokes her head into crevices and bumps it against something, but she doesnt seem too phased. I suspect once her whiskers grow back this will be less of a problem.

What can I do to help her adjust to the loss of vision? What can I do to get used to her only having one eye? I understand that these transitions are usually harder for the humans than their pets.
