Hello! I adopted a dog about 3 weeks ago (spayed female, mutt, unknown age - vet guessed 9 months), and she is wonderful, but we are having issues with separation anxiety. She was a stray before we had her, so she's never had a family before me and SO. My SO has been watching her and he works 10 hour days, so we have a walker come twice in that period, but otherwise she is in her crate for house training and safety purposes. Every time, she cries the whole time, pushes the blanket out of her crate and tries to push the bottom part of it out (presumably an attempt to escape). We tried not crating her and she tore up the rug and had several accidents, so I don't think not crating her is an option. I've tried Kongs, bones, other toys... she doesn't eat any of them while we're gone, she waits until we're back and then eats them. Even if I try just giving her a couple regular treats, she won't eat them. I'm looking for other suggestions that we can try to help her be happier when no one is home. Thanks!
