So I live in an apartment complex with my girlfriend and almost 4 year old black lab cattle dog mix Ruthie. Ruthie is a good pup but when her enemy comes down the hall she will bark at the door and sometimes jump up on the handle. Our apartment door handle is a lever mechanism and when its turned down hard from the inside the door will unlock. The other day when my girlfriend got home from work the door was slightly ajar because Ruthie jump on the lever and knocked it when she was home alone for the day. We just tried to get one of those lever locks for babies but because of the lock mechanism it doesnt fit on the door. We are debating a fence but it would be expensive and a pain in the ass to have in the apartment. What can I do to fortify the door and stop my dog from opening it when my girl and I arent home. Any suggestions reddit?
