HORRIBLE dog shedding. Furminator actually work?

My dog is a Whippet x Jack russel terrier, shameless pics, because he's stupid cute, and he sheds. A TON. I mean, it's insane. I guess it's the terrier in him, but my beds, clothes, anything that isn't white, is now white. I own about 10 lint rollers, but my dog is confined to a small area, as I live in a fairly very small apartment, so all my stuff is decorated in his hair.
Do furminators actually work? or anything else that can help the shedding AT ALL?
