So I posted yesterday about giving my cat and dog a Capstar tablet. They both had an allergic reaction, but both seemed to have calmed down and went to sleep just normally.
This morning my dog jumped on my bed, and wasn't as excited as usual. I also noticed underneath his chin, on his neck, and on his chest, he has sagging skin, like loose skin, that has NEVER been there. It's very noticeable. And it feels kind of like jelly, doesn't seem to bother him..
He goes for walks, he's semi-alert, and he ate his bone and some peanutbutter just fine. I gave him 1/2 a 25mg benadryl, he's 25lbs, to help him chill and hopefully help with some itching, since his back legs also seem to have small red bumps all over them.
He also has been drinking some water, but maybe he isn't hungry, or he's just tired, or somethings very wrong, but he won't eat his normal dog food. But for the sake of remaining calm, I'm chalking it up to me over reacting.
I took off work tomorrow morning, and I'm calling my vet ASAP to beg to come in and see any of the Dr.'s on staff. It's been 5 hours since I gave him 1/2 a benadryl and he's really tired..not sure if it's still the benadrayl, or if something is really wrong, but I'm hoping tomorrow all turns out alright..
Looking for some advice and calm/comfort. I've been on the verge of a wreck all day, but I'm trying my best to keep it together. My dad told me since he's still going for walks, and he at least drank some water, he's probably just drained from yesterday and/or still sleepy from the benadryl and he'll be OK. I'm trying my best to not lose it right now.
