The one and only thing I truly hate about this job is that it is so impossible to be sick or ācall outā due to mental health. The only time I have canceled appointments in the last 5 years is when I had covid a couple years ago.
I have never felt so overwhelmed in my life and it is hitting my mental health hard, I feel like Iām slipping into despair as dramatic as that sounds, but itās true. My little old dog is sick and I am so worried about her, and I am currently going to school full time on top of full time grooming. I have 2 extremely hard classes this term and I have 4 exams I need to study for in the next 3 weeks.
I only have one full day off per week. And it was not enough this week. I spent most of the day worried sick about my dog and got nothing done. I would give anything to not have to go to work tomorrow but then Iād have the added stress of trying to find space for my already overly full schedule in the coming weeks. Iām booking into April and I donāt have extra days I could come in to make up for it. Itās so frustrating because my clients act as if their dog will die if they donāt get their haircut on time. Like being sick doesnāt already suck enough, now you have the added stress of trying to find space on your schedule for grumpy clients. I donāt even know what to do. I just have grit my teeth and get through the next three weeks I guess. Fml
