Please help me figure out why my new rig wont fire up. Dogecoin reward for helping me fix this.

Ok so I just got my mobo, but do not have the risers yet so I am going to run 2 MSI R9 270X GPU's on the mobo until the risers come. So I installed the processor and fan, installed the 1 stick of 4gb RAM, is there supposed to be 2 sticks of RAM for it to work? It seems like everything is connected, but when I hit the power switch, it comes on for a second then shuts off. I am using the MSI Z77A-GD65 motherboard.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

*****Edit to add: I figured out that I did not have the 8 pin connected! Fighting off some kind of sickness right now so probably making more mistakes then I would usually be. lol I promise to pass out some Doge when I get things squared away. You have my word on it.
