Hey shibes!
Let's put the fork and updates aside for a moment...
The dev fund just broke the ten million DOGE mark. That is an incredible achievement! I'm here to say thank you. Thank you to everyone who contributed and also to everyone who promoted it. It is really nice to see the appreciation there. No matter how small or big your contribution is. Even just the words "thank you" go a long way for us. We do this in our free time and we like what we do. We do it for you, the communities of Dogecoin.
You may wonder what we do with the coins. Actually, we got to learn, that developing and testing the different bits and pieces costs actual money. That is mainly where this money goes into. There are servers to pay, there are miners for the testnet, there is for example an Apple developer account to deliver the Mac version. So it is really good to have a way to pay for these without investing too much of our own money.
So, after 1.8 is done, we will think about how to fairly distribute the funds (while keeping some for contingency). We will make this transparent, the same as last time.
By the way: The community funded ASIC is still running nicely. So far it contributed 1,416,386.28107353 DOGE to the fund!
Thank you!
