So a few months ago i found a video of someone who happened to be present for the filming of The Star Beast opening (most likely) where we see The Doctor reunite with Donna in Camden. during the moment where the spaceship begins to crash, The Doctor takes out his new sonic screwdriver, aims it towards the sky, and then seems to move something around with his hands while still looking towards the ship crashing. since it was just footage of them filming and rehearsing, there isn’t any audio to indicate what the sonic did and what The Doctor does with his hands. even more interesting is that after the crash, The Doctor quickly shifts something over towards the crash site, and finishes by flicking his sonic at it once more.
i’m very curious to learn what it is the sonic is now able to do. honestly, i believe it is related to the blue shield The Doctor appears to use inside the Noble house in the new trailer. i think the sonic may have been upgraded with new more defensive mechanics.
anyway, i absolutely can’t wait to find out this mystery and much more!
quick edit: here’s the link for the video so you can all analyze it yourselves and come up with some more theories Doctor Who 60th BTS Filming
