Nearing the end of a boss sequence, our party is faced with low health and sturdy, locked door with guards coming up the tower stairs behind them. It's either break down the door or probably die to to guards.
Me being the explosion and fire loving Dwarf bard, decides to light the door on fire and hopefully it burns down fast enough. I did try blowing it up too with Shatter, but that failed.
Door's not burning fast enough and we're running out of time. Teifling paladin decides to step up and show her power. Rolls to kick down the door. NAT 20! With a secondary Nat 20 to confirm! Table goes nuts! What will the DM do?
DM rules that the kick was so powerful and in the name of the paladin's god, the magics around the area were bent by the kick and infused themselves into the door. The door was utterly LAUNCHED across the room and out a window.
The door now being magic-fied will now orbit the earth forever, blazing gloriously across the sky, about 3 stories up. Anyone who manages to pass through the door as it flies gets transported to another realm
TL;DR: paladin kicked down a door so hard that it created an orbital dimensional door.
