Ideas on additions to a walking tower

Post Body

So my dm runs a completely open world homebrew game where we have been brought back to life by a god to kill an evil emporer and his family in order to destroy his kingdom. Recently we found and repaired a magical walking tower made thousands of years ago by some ancient civilization.

Now this tower has six spider like legs (very similar to a guardian from Zelda BoTW) but is about 60 feet tall. It can be controlled from the first floor by my character (he’s the only one who knows how to pilot it right now because he’s an artificer and is the one who fixed it though I’m starting to teach the other party members) but has no weapons. However the dm is VERY lax on the rules and allows us to do pretty much whatever we want within reason, and as the campaign is very open world we get plenty of chances for downtime.

So my party wants to turn this thing into a massive siege weapon to attack the capital of this empire. I’m looking for any ideas on what defenses or armaments I could try and add to this thing. In this world firearms and gunpowder do exist though they are kind of rare. My party is made of an armorer artificer (me) a hunter ranger, and an open hand monk.

I’m open to any suggestions and sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. Edit: I should have said that the driver can see outside the tower when piloting it
