Short story:
Last week, my players were asked by the proprietess of a local adventurer's tavern (The Thick Huntress, detailed below if you want to insert it in your games) to meet with some prospective clients for a job. Now, I made the job very... tugs their heart strings and they'll be invested in seeing the mission through.
And when the NPCs offered half the pay (2000 gp out of 4000 gp) to start... they negotiated the paid price down.
I'm serious. They said they wanted to get less money.
So. How have YOUR players broken the stereotypes of players?
