To all those complaining about the lack of assigned ASIs for the new UA races:
Post Body

It's been less than a day since I became aware of the new UA Folk of the Feywild races had been published. Something that seems to be really riling up the community right now, is the lack of pre-assigned ASIs for the races.

Now, I don't intend for this to become a discussion on the merits of Tasha's Origin Customisation, or the lack of racial ASIs, which appears to be a Private Companies' decision. I just wanted to say this:

For anyone that said that they think it's a mistake, or a bad idea, and have come up with a list of "recommended ASIs" for the races: Congratulations! You have used the system as intended! The rules give you 2 and 1, or 3 1's, to assign as you see fit, and you have seen fit to assign them to hypothetical characters that you might make in future!

Just remember to leave it there.

[EDIT]

Apparently, everyone is missing the entire point of my post: Coming up with a list of ASIs that you would use at your table is EXACTLY HOW THE SYSTEM IS MEANT TO WORK. Even before Tasha, people have been asking if they can swap their racial ASIs. People have always debated why certain races have certain ASIs.

It doesn't matter what the norm is of the race and society your PC is from. By being an adventurer, they are already outside the norm.

PS. Flavour does not come from the mechanics. The mechanics are used to express the flavour.
