So I've casually played over the years, starting on 3.5. I've always loved it and really got into playing a character and rigorously sticking to the ideas and beliefs of my character (to the point of having to fight my companions for desecrating corpses and needless murder.)
The other night, I started a small adventure to introduce a few friends with another who's well versed in the game. I love Magic the Gathering so I picked up the Ravinca stuff, and I loved it.
I was proud of the twists and additions I added to the basic story it gave, and made it into a fun adventure full of story. I got into making personalities for the NPCs, making all kinds of extra characters (I read the story books from years ago in reference to the Ravinca lore).
I just wanted to brag about how confident I felt for my first session and how great, but tired, I felt after 5 or 6 hours of constant fun. I do, however, miss having my own character that I can fully flesh out.
