When making characters and stuff, I'm always efficient. I don't have as much fun when I'm not minmaxing.
I like utility, but it's not as much fun as being stat efficient.
For example, I'm building an artificer. I like the idea of a Gnome artificer, but the gnome can't use a heavy crossbow. Very flavorful, but I won't get the stat benchmark and my inventions feat will have to replace crossbow expert so I won't get the extra attack...
I like the idea of a warforged artificer, but I feel that's probably a stereotype. So I wouldn't be very original.
I like the idea of a hobgoblin, because I can be proficient in a heavy crossbow for the combat.
I cannot help but minmax. I know I'm that guy, and everyone else knows I'm that guy. I like utility (my favorite thing In the game is a toolbox wizard) but it's not as fun as minmaxing.
How do I not be that guy?
