Fixing Witch Bolt up a little.

As many of you will agree, Witch Bolt is a pretty underpowered spell. I was wondering, if maintaining the damage on your turn cost a bonus action instead of an action, would you take it? Alternatively, if the target had to make a Saving Throw against your Spell Save DC to leave the range, would you take it?
