I'm sitting in on a campaign that is already running to get a feel for what the group is like, so I'd like to create a character that I just have fun with while I see how things work.
I'd like to make a Bard (level 4) who is particularly talented at acting/bluffing and pretends that he is some kind of Secret Agent whose cover is a wandering Bard. However, I'm new to 5e and not really sure what sorts of things I'll need to keep in mind if my goal is to be a consummate liar and storyteller. Any advice about how to max/min the ability scores or what kinds of spells to select, etc.? Thanks for reading.
