well, today i got kicked from the DnD group i started a year ago. saw a couple of the guys talking at work today and walked up to see what was going on and they were talking about playing on saturday, i got excited because we havent played in awhile as 2 of our members were away for a wedding and another guy was at a training school. i asked what time we were playing and the guy that is DM'ing told me i wasnt invited anymore, i thouight he was joking at first but it turned out he was serious. i asked why and the reason he gave me was "your family is your top priority" and the incident in question was our last session that we played before the break, in which we were supposed to play from 10-18 on a saturday, i showed up at 930(im ALWAYS early and one of the first there) we were waiting around for our DM to show up and then got a call that he was running late and we wouldnt start till 12. he shows up at 1230 and proceeds to start printing a bunch of stuff off and prepare for the game and we didnt even start playing until 1330. as time got closer i reminded everyone that we were stopping at 1800 and that i had to get home to my family when we finished. 1800 hits and we are still going strong with no end in sight. i stood up and announced that i had to go and would be leaving, the DM told me we were almost done and i should just keep playing, i reminded him that i had a family and that we were supposed to be playing from 10-18 and that i had obligations to my family and told my wife that i would be leaving at 18. he told me it would one be another 15 minutes and i said sorry but i had to go. i got home and later on that night i was talking to a buddy and asked how the session went and found out the game went another hour and a half...wasnt too bummed but i apologized that i had to leave early and he told me he understood...so that was the "reason" on why i was kicked...needless to say i was a little unhappy and told him that was ridiculous and that it wouldnt have been a problem if he had actually shown up on time for the game and kept the game to the scheduled time. but, its apparently my fault because i have a family and we have to plan our games around my family(which isnt true, i just like to know when everyone wants to play so i can let my wife know) hell, ive hosted and planned most of the sessions and grilled food and whatnot. its just irritating and upsetting that my friends would basically stab me in the back like that. just thought i would vent here and hope i didnt bore you all with my sob story.
tl:dr got kicked from the group i started because i have a family
Edit: after talking to all you peeps, I have started putting together a small group with the understanding that I have a family and we will be playing as time permits and whatnot
