Advice on DMing large groups.
Post Body

So, for my classroom I got the okay to have my students play Dungeons and Dragons because it helps them with empathy and some basic math skills (which they are severely lacking in). Due to the nature of my class sizes (between 8-10) it's likely that my entire class will be playing.

What I'm asking is: how can I make combat challenging for such a large group, but not murderous? They'll all be coming in at level one, so even a lucky hit from a goblin could potentially kill them, and I obviously don't want that to happen.

Keeping order I'm strangely not that worried about.
